Intermodal transport

Long distance deliveries can often be carried out more efficiently using intermodal transport. Schenk has built up a fleet of tank containers specially developed for the safe and reliable transport of liquids and gases, including cryogenic products. These units are employed to transport cargoes both in Europe and worldwide.

Within Europe, a fast and reliable network of rail and shortsea connections is used to optimise intermodal transport opportunities. On deepsea routes tank containers are carried by fast, modern container ships which sail to to all major ports on regular weekly services.

Types of tank container utilised by Schenk:

Liquids: 15,000 – 40,000 litre
Gases: 17,000 – 43,000 litre
Cryogenic gases:
20,000 – 24,000 litre
Bitumen: 20,000 – 29,000 litre

Schenk maintains an extensive worldwide network of partners who ensure the safe and punctual local delivery of tank container shipments in the country of destination.
