Paul researched and set up a Customs Agent to act on Suttons’ behalf when raising the movements in the HMRC database and necessary Export Documentation for shipment of the driver/tank. The BOC contract includes self-drive to Ireland so Paul ensured the receiver of the product could carry out the customs clearance once the self-drive had left the vessel at Dublin port.
There was a considerable amount of administrative work for Paul to complete with the Customs Agents in order to ensure necessary documents were completed and available for the driver to travel and arrive to Dublin port with. The handling of imports and exports now that Britain is no longer part of the EU is all still relatively unknown and the processes are very new to us all.
Due to Paul’s due diligence and attention to detail the transport operation has been carried out efficiently and successfully. This demonstrates Suttons’ commitment to providing its customers with the highest levels of service and compliance, despite the circumstances.
Dan North, Contracts Manager at BOC, commented:
Paul Morrill has been absolutely fantastic through recent times and as well as having the expertise, has demonstrated consistently that he is willing to go the extra mile for BOC in order to keep our customers serviced. His willingness to help combined with attention to detail really doesn’t go unrecognised so wanted to take the opportunity to highlight this to you both.
We’d like to echo Dan’s comments and congratulate Paul on his recent efforts on both the Rain Carbon and BOC contracts. He has fully embraced the Suttons core value of ‘Customer Focus’ as well as ‘Personal Responsibility’. Well done Paul!
