The International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations who have sufficiently demonstrated their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health.
Darren Mathieson, operations manager at Stockton, said:
“Suttons is well-known for its safety culture and this award consolidates the company’s continued commitment to putting safety first by ensuring the provision of a safe working environment.
“The team in Stockton deserves a great deal of credit as its achievement reinforces our customers’ trust in the business and demonstrates that our products and deliveries are always handled with the highest level of care.”
Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council said:
“Our warmest congratulations to Suttons Tankers Stockton depot. All of those working there should be rightly proud of their achievement.
“By celebrating and sharing the achievements of the winners of the International Safety Awards, we encourage businesses all over the world to follow their lead and place employees’ health and safety at the heart of their business.”
The award will be presented at the 60th International Safety Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 27 April at Grosvenor House in London.
