OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FOR HIGHER LEARNER ENGINEERS

Suttons International is proud to announce the outstanding accomplishments of our Higher Learner engineers, Joshua Voce, and Rhys Roland, based at our Widnes Depot. These two dedicated individuals recently achieved a distinction award in their HNC (Higher National Certificate) qualifications, emerging as the sole recipients of this accolade in their class! Now, with the support from the Widnes workshop team, they are working towards the HND (Higher National Diploma) qualification.

The HNC journey involved meticulous assessment through portfolios and coursework, ensuring they acquired the essential skills for their roles. Having been integral members of the Suttons workshop for over 4 and 5 years respectively, Joshua and Rhys embody our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering long-term growth.

As part of their responsibilities, they play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance and safety of our tanks through rigorous testing. Joshua specializes in gas tank maintenance, while Rhys excels in electrical refurbishments & looking after Livents assets, showcasing their diverse skill sets.

Their success is not just a personal achievement for the pair but a testament to the robust support system at Suttons. Both apprentices readily share challenges and seek guidance from their experienced colleagues, underscoring the collaborative spirit within the organization.

Every Tuesday, Joshua and Rhys attend local college classes to supplement their on-the-job learning, reflecting Suttons’ dedication to a holistic educational approach. The upcoming HND qualification will extend their classroom learning, further solidifying their expertise through completed coursework.

Lorna Foster, Workshop Manager, expressed her pride, stating, “I am super proud of both Rhys & Joshua for what they have achieved so far with their HNC, and I have no doubt that they will continue to succeed with their HND’s. I’m really glad that they have such great learning opportunities working for Suttons.”

Alan Davenport, Depot Manager said: “Both Josh and Rhys have exemplified what we strive for at Suttons, their effort and achievement to this level of qualification is outstanding and a credit to them both as individuals and employees. This is not easy to come by and shows the effort they have both put in. We are proud to have them as employees with the Depot”
