DEVELOPMENT

Schenk Papendrecht B.V. was founded in 1925 as a sand and gravel annex transport company. In the late 1950s, the company branched out into tank transport. We transported primarily Fuel oil, domestic heating oil and petrol/diesel. As a result of the increasing importance of the tank transport, trade in sand and gravel was discontinued in the 1980s and Schenk turned entirely to tank transport.

The company is now run by the 3rd generation of Schenks, brothers Harry and Arjan Schenk. After 1990, Schenk Tank Transport’s growth gained momentum. Taking over the activities of fellow transport companies and taking over own transport from both oil producers and industrial gas producers at home and abroad were important sources of expansion for Schenk Tank Transport. Schenk has now developed into a professional transport company that, in addition to transport by road, also offers intermodal transport solutions. Schenk’s sound financial footing, our expertise in the field and the more than 1,700 employees make it possible to further develop our service together with clients.
